I want to Thank Disney Avenue for the pictures. 1968

Fifty years ago, on March 18, 1967, a Disney Parks classic first set sail at Disneyland park. Throughout the next 50 years, Pirates of the Caribbean went on to become an iconic fan favorite, pillaging and plundering at Disney Parks around the world, with Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and most recently, the award-winning Pirates of the Caribbean – Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disney Resort. Yo ho, me hearties! This Saturday, March 18, marks 50 years of “rascals and scoundrels … villains and knaves” with the anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland park, and we’re planning to celebrate with scoundrels and scallywags alike!
Beginning Thursday, March 16, guests can feast upon special pirate-themed grub at French Market Restaurant, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley, Royal Street Verandah, Cafe Orleans and the one-of-a-kind Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Then the party really sets sail Friday, March 17, and on the attraction’s official anniversary, March 18. Guests will find pirate-themed entertainment throughout New Orleans Square by the likes of Bootstrappers and Lucky the Pirate.

They can also plunder limited-edition anniversary merchandise, available in New Orleans Square while supplies last. And ye landlubbers who wish ter talk like a pirate – aye, ye’ll getcher chance … with pirate speak collectible cards. And stay sharp, because there will be even more to discover!
Since its March 18, 1967, debut, Pirates of the Caribbean has become a Disneyland park classic and fan favorite. This iconic attraction has gone on to pillage and plunder at Disney Parks around the world, with Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and most recently, the award-winning Pirates of the Caribbean – Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disney Resort.

Pirates Of the Caribbean has always been my favorite ride.It is a Must Ride before we leave to go home. Pirates has been re-invented in the POTC movie franchise, Starring Johnny Depp, Jack the Monkey, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Geoffrey Rush. just to name a few of the actors. You will be able see them once again in the upcoming POTC Dead Men Tell No Tales movie this summer.
The Bootstrappers are a fun lively band that interact with guests, But watch out for Timekeeper and Sockhead Syd, Among other rum loving Pirates. You can Find Jack . Oops!! Captain Jack Sparrow, popping up everywhere. We ran into him at the 2015 D23 Expo. As I am sure we will run into him again at this July's D23 Expo.
Here are some more classic photos of the attraction.

I am a Fan of this ride, One of the last rides that Walt Disney created before he passed away.
I have been making a painting of Captain Barbossa.

Come celebrate Pirates of the Caribbean with us at Disneyland park!
I have been getting questions, will the ride be open? I called Disneyland, and talked to a Castmember, they said it will reopen this Thursday, (*tentatively)
I want to Thank Erin Glover for sharing her part of this blog.

DISNEYLAND REMINISCING THOSE OLDER DAYS. A SEVEN PART SERIES #85

A while back I put up a poll on what you wanted to see more of, Many of you asked for pictures from the past of Disneyland.
I went to Disneyland at least twice a year when I was a kid, Our parents would take all five of us brothers. We would enter the park via the Monorail at the Monorail CafĂ© during the winter. As my dad would go to the NAMM show in January. and send my mom and us to Disneyland.
My dad would then join us around 6pm , so he could watch the live bands play at Carnation Plaza, and under Space Mountain stage (sorry I cannot remember the name). and over at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square.

And we would go in the summer close to my birthday in August. We would then see the bands that played at Tomorrowland Terrace and the Parades and a Must see Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks.
I will take you on a tour from the past and then bring you up to speed in the future, Well 1980's.
Unfortunately I will be using other peoples pictures as all the family photos were split up between my 4 other brothers, for some reason I didn't end up with Disneyland pictures, I got the Knott's Berry Farm pictures.
So I would like to thank these people now. Gorillasdontblog, Davesblogland, Yesterland, DisneyGoblog, Disneylandblog, and Google Images. But most of all I want to thank Walt Disney for creating the Park for his daughters and us.

So lets start at the Main Street Station. Travel back in time . There are a lot of pictures, which means there will be seven blogs, not including this one.
We will visit rides from the past, rides that have been revamped or taken out of the park.
I will also try to find pictures of classic Mickey Mouse Balloons, Parades, Places to eat, Bands, Stages merchandise.
I thought I would just give you a small preview of what is in store.
