What is Happening to Walt Disney's 1st Theme Park? Disneyland #197

Please Follow and share our blog for new and exciting news and information on all things Disney. Marvel, Star Wars, Fox, Pixar, D23 Expo, and All future Entertainment happening in the Disney Parks. Cosplay ect.

2020 has been a bad year for the entire planet, Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, which has taken over our world, killing millions of people, unemployment, closing restaurants, malls, church gatherings, Expos, comic cons, movie theaters, Cruise lines and travel ect.. and yes even our beloved theme parks, No not just Disney... but all amusement parks.

As the covid-19 had spread it had even closed countries borders and had all of the people shelter in place. Well almost all countries. Not the United States.

As the world tries to reopen, and get things back to a semi normal life, The Disney Theme Parks have all opened fully, except the Disneyland Resort. Disney had furloughed everyone back in March, saying "Dont worry your jobs are secure" when we open up you'll have your jobs to come back to.

Well now Knott's Berry Farm hasn't reopened its rides or attractions, They still have the outside open to eat in and go shopping. Just recently in the past few months, they are selling tickets to special foodie events inside the park. the latest is Fall-O-Ween and you can dress up.

But Not The Disneyland Resort.... except for downtown Disney shopping.
Who is to blame? our Governor? or the Walt Disney Company?

Just Last week The Disney Company laid off over 28,000 Cast members, Musicians, and Hotel Cast Members, Disney Fine Artists, claiming they would let go the part time people. NOT True!!!
I know of at least two fulltime employee's who were FIRED!

It's time for Disney to stop this madness!!

If and when Disneyland Resort in Anaheim ever reopens, Will people (Guests) ever return?

What are your thoughts? We want to hear from you!!!

Nine Things to ‘Know Before You Go’ to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort

Michael Ramirez
by , Editorial Content Director, Disneyland Resort
When Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at the Disneyland Resort in just a few days, you will be invited to step into the Star Wars universe for the very first time and live your own Star Warsadventures. To help you plan ahead and prepare for your visit, here are nine things to “know before you go” to this epic, new land, opening May 31.
1. Reservations are required to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23. If visiting during this time, valid theme park admission and a reservation are needed to enter the new land at Disneyland park. If you have a reservation, you may check in at Star Wars Launch Bay in Tomorrowland up to 2 hours prior to your reservation start time, and go to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge entrance as directed when your reservation begins. When you check in, please bring your reservation confirmation (including QR code), government-issued ID and all members of your party listed on the reservation. At this time, general reservations are no longer available on Disneyland.com.
2. You can still get a reservation to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel between May 31 and June 23*. Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort hotels between May 31 and June 23 will receive a designated reservation to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during their stay (one reservation per registered guest; valid theme park admission required). Hotel guests will be notified of their reservation date and time with their registration confirmation. You may book a stay at Disneyland.com/Hotels or call (714) 520-5060. If the hotel reservation is cancelled, the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservation will be cancelled.
3. No standby line will be available to enter Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between May 31 and June 23. Only guests with reservations will be able to access the land during this time.*
4. If you plan on visiting opening day, May 31, there is no need for guests with Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge reservations to arrive early because of the reservation system we have in place. You can begin to check in two hours prior to your reservation start time. You may begin parking at select theme park parking lots at midnight.
5. Reservations will no longer be required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge after June 23. As needed, to manage demand, Disneyland Resort will implement a virtual queueing system to visit the new land so you can enjoy the rest of the resort while waiting to visit Batuu. The Disneyland app will have a dedicated module, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Status and Access, available from the main page, on which you can request to join a boarding group to visit the land, once you have entered the park. Boarding groups will be sent a push notification when it is their turn to enter the land and they can monitor status of boarding groups from the app. There will also be the ability to join a boarding group from select locations inside Disneyland park, if you are not using the app. The boarding group is tied to admission media that will be scanned upon entry into the land. Signage throughout the park will also display boarding group status. Admission into Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be subject to capacity, and having an assigned boarding group will not guarantee entrance to the land.
6. The current Disneyland Resort costume policy will be in effect in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older. Appropriate Disney bounding – dressing in outfits inspired by favorite characters – is permitted.
7. Download the official Disneyland mobile app to plan ahead and make the most of your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The Disneyland app** allows you to check the attraction wait time, locate character encounters and even utilize the mobile ordering feature at select dining locations when you are in the new land.
8. Prepare for your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge by downloading the Play Disney Parks mobile app in advance of your arrival. The Play Disney Parks app** allows you to deepen your engagement with the land and interact with the world around you on the planet Batuu. Should you choose to engage through the app, you will be able to interact with droids, translate Aurebesh, scan cargo crates and other containers to collect virtual items, and more.
9. Inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, our goal is to provide a great guest experience. For example, while you are in the queue at Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, you will have the ability to purchase snacks, utilize a continued process to visit the restroom, enjoy cast interactions, and also engage with an in-queue game while using the Play Disney Parks mobile app to make wait times fun, interactive and enjoyable.
For more information, check out our “Know Before You Go” video series below:
*Access to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge experiences is subject to capacity. After June 23, 2019, when reservations will no longer be required, access to Disneyland Park, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and experiences is subject to capacity.
**Message, data and roaming rates may apply. Availability subject to handset limitations, and features may vary by handset, service provider or otherwise. Coverage and app stores not available everywhere. If you’re under 18, get your parents’ permission first.

We hope to see you there, and may the Force be with you!

Sleeping Beauty's Castle gets a facelift, to look like Herb Ryman's original DPB: Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park Reopens with Stunning Enhancements #188

Follow us for new and exciting news and information on all things Disney. Marvel, Star Wars, Fox, Pixar, D23 Expo, and All future Entertainment happening in the Disney Parks. Cosplay ect..

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Park Reopens with Stunning Enhancements.

Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland park is now open after a months-long refurbishment, and it’s more beautiful than ever! The beloved icon now features vibrant new colors, a new roof and charming and subtle pixie dust, among other enhancements.
Over the years, the colors and finishes on Sleeping Beauty Castle have been refreshed and updated since Disney Legend and Imagineering Artist Herb Ryman first created the concept illustration of the castle in the 1950s.
“What’s interesting about this time is that we used an ages-old painting technique called atmospheric perspective to visually heighten the castle,” said Kim Irvine, art director at Walt Disney Imagineering. “We warmed the pink hues on the lower towers and gradually added blue to lighten the colors toward the top.”

The same technique was used for the new roof, now with gorgeous cobalt hues. Each of the 18 original turrets was digitally scanned to create the same roofline, and pixie dust was sprinkled on the center roof.

“We focused the golden accents and pixie dust around the entrance to the castle, as though it has been magically enchanted,” said Irvine. Colorful banners, pennants and landscaping also were included, and the Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough received new paint and lighting.

To celebrate the reopening, the Disneyland Resort made a donation to Ryman Arts, a charity founded in Herb Ryman’s memory, and planted a dwarf fir tree in his honor. The “Ryman Tree” recalls a Christmas tree that belonged to Herb Ryman the last year of his life that was once planted near the castle after his passing.

I cannot wait to see the restoration next month. Please stay tuned for more pictures.

Disney Doodle: Jane Visits ‘it’s a small world’ #181

In our Disney Doodle series, different Disney artists take turns imagining what different Disney characters would do or see first if they had the chance to visit a Disney Park.
In today’s Doodle, artist Ashley Taylor envisions what Jane, the adventurous heroine from “Tarzan,” would do if she could visit a park.
According to Ashley, this budding artist may seek out a new “jungle” for some artistic inspiration.
“Jane loves drawing in the jungle, so it’s easy to imagine her sketching the animals inside of ‘it’s a small world‘!” Ashley said.

Embrace the Pirates Life with a Sneak Peek, Posters & Sweepstakes Inspired by Disney’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ #127

Embrace the Pirates Life with a Sneak Peek, Posters & Sweepstakes Inspired by Disney’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’
Excitement is building for this summer’s release of Disney’s rip-roaring adventure “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” New posters have just been released, featuring Captain Jack Sparrow and other characters from the new movie, and beginning April 21, guests visiting Disney Parks and Resorts will be able to preview scenes from the film in sneak peeks planned for Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Cruise Line!

At Disney California Adventure park, the preview of “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be presented in 3D with special in-theater effects at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land, while guests at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will get to see this advance look at clips from the film as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction. If you’re heading out to sea with Disney Cruise Line, you can enjoy a sneak peek aboard all four ships in the fleet, on select sailings this summer.

Johnny Depp returns to the big screen as the iconic, swashbuckling anti-hero Jack Sparrow in the all-new “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.” The epic tale finds down-on-his-luck Captain Jack feeling the winds of ill-fortune blowing strongly his way when deadly ghost sailors, led by the terrifying Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), escape from the Devil’s Triangle bent on killing every pirate at sea—notably Jack. Jack’s only hope of survival lies in the legendary Trident of Poseidon, but to find it he must forge an uneasy alliance with Carina Smyth (Kaya Scodelario), a brilliant and beautiful astronomer, and Henry (Brenton Thwaites), a headstrong young sailor in the Royal Navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his pitifully small and shabby ship, Captain Jack seeks not only to reverse his recent spate of ill fortune, but to save his very life from the most formidable and malicious foe he has ever faced.
Plan to catch our sneak peek of scenes from the film at Disney Parks and on Disney Cruise Line starting April 21, and set sail with “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” in 3D on May 26, when it has its premiere at sea aboard the ships of Disney Cruise Line and is released to theaters across the U.S.
Looking for even more adventure? Be sure to enter the Disney “Pirates of the Caribbean” Land & Sea Sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for 4 to Walt Disney World Resort and a Disney Cruise Line trip to the Caribbean! FRONTIERLAND , PICTURES FROM THE PAST. DISNEYLAND PART THREE #89

I asked a question a few blog post back, and many of you wanted to see pictures of Disneyland's past. so far we have traveled down Main Street U.S.A. to Sleeping Beauty's Castle. now we shall turn left and Visit Frontierland, Before there was a rollercoaster named Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

(remember, Just click on the photos to view them larger)
We shall travel through those wooden fortress gates, when you could climb upstairs and aim your rifle at the enemy and fire at them. or walk down the dirt covered street to the shooting gallery.

If you were hungry, you could always visit Casa De Frito's.

Then take a ride I a stagecoach, or a Pack mule through Natures Wonderland. But then again if you just wanted to take a train ride , you could always ride the Natures Wonderland through Rainbow caverns and bear country mine train. You could also visit the Indian village.

If you were more adventurous you could take a ride on the Rivers of America on a Steam powered Paddle wheeler ( Mark Twain ) river boat.
or travel on the Sailing ship, The Columbia.

Here is something you may Never see again, when visiting the park. Columbia has it's Sails down.

If these ships were to large for you and you wanted to use some muscle.
you could climb aboard a real Indian Canoe and paddle around the river.

There were many ways to go around the river, But if you wanted to be like Huck Finn you needed to get to Tom Sawyers Island.
Only two ways to do that. The Mike Finn Keel boats and the River rafts.

Most of the Keel boats have been retired, you can see a few of them sitting beside the island.

Once on the Island , you could search for treasures, climb Castle Rock, Hide in Injun Joe's Caves, and go to Fort Wilderness or even see a settlers cabin on fire.

For the adults who wanted some music and laughter, they could head over to the Golden Horseshoe Revue, and catch Wally Boag. or the Can Can girls. or enjoy Aunt Jemimas Pancake house.
