Our 1st time riding @Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge. Rise of the Resistance

Hello Adventurers!!
This is the moment I have been waiting for, For over four years. You will have to watch 2 videos, because  the line had stopped and i did not want to have the boring stuff on it. LOL
What am I talking about? @StarWars @RiseoftheResisntance
Up to now my most favorite rides at @DisneylandResort were, The Disneyland Railroad (Full Circle), The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Mine Train, Peter Pan's Flight, Casey Jr. Railroad and the Old Version of Star Tours.
Those are classic @Disneyland rides. But when I heard they were removing the Big Thunder Ranch and changing the Rivers of America, I was starting to Hate Disney, I kept saying That doesn't belong in Disneyland, Make a new park and put it there!
In 2018 we still had Premium Annual Passes and were able to ride the 1st ride that opened. Smugglers Run, Eh It was okay. Heck I was even the pilot. But I didnt get to see much as I was pushing buttons and pulling levers just to keep the Millennium Falcon from crashing.
Okay the line was too long, it was a okay ride, But I was skeptical on how the new ride was going to be. Anyways our passes ran out before we could find out. And then the pandemic hit, @Disneyland was closed for over 1 year.

Galaxy's Edge

Now we jump to Today August 04th 2024. We asked all our family or friends if one of them wanted to join us, in celebrating our nineth wedding Anniversary. (Actual real date is 08/07/2024) They all couldn't make it.
Now our friend Alan Thompson Jr.
Former Ragtime pianist at Coke Corner
Yes That Alan Thompson The one you use to listen to or see playing those magical 88 keys at Coke Corner on Main Street U.S.A.
He got us into @Disneyland about a month before and even got us the Genie pass. But as luck would have it The ride had broke down and it was too close to closing time, so they did not reopen it.
I was sad :( Thinking we will never get to ride that ride as My wife and I are both disabled And don't make enough money to even afford a 1 day/ Park hopper or a magic Key pass.

We are so grateful that our friends June and Oscar Martinez signed us in. You remember Chef Oscar? he worked at @Carnation Cafe. He was the lonest tenured Cast Member. @Walt Disney hired him when he was 20 yrs. old in 1956. He worked at the parks for 60 years. started out as a busboy and worked his way up to head chef.

BTW My wife should not of rode it, But she loves me and wanted me to have fun on the ride, even if it killed her YIKES!
I want to thank all the cast members who got us through the que. as she was on her scooter up until we boarded the ride vehicles.

I want to Thank all those Imagineers for making this happen But Most of all I want to Thank @GeorgeLucas Best Ride EVER!

Please watch both Videos and if you are new to the channel, Please subscribe and hit that bell for notifications.

BREAKING NEWS FROM D23 EXPO- Star Wars-Themed Lands Coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts Announced at D23 EXPO #34

Star Wars-Themed Lands Coming to Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Aug. 15, 2015) – Today at the D23 EXPO 2015, The Walt Disney Company Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced to an audience of more than 7,500 fans that Star Wars-themed lands will be coming to Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla., allowing Star Wars fans to step into the stories from a galaxy far, far away.

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single themed land expansions ever at 14 acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

"I am thrilled to announce the next chapter in the long and exciting history between Disney Parks and Star Wars,” said Iger.  “We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever.  These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

These authentic lands will have two signature attractions.  Along with the thrilling battle experience, another attraction puts guests behind the controls of one of the most recognizable ships in the galaxy, the Millennium Falcon, as they take on a customized secret mission.

Iger also shared concept images of the Star Wars-themed lands, giving fans a glimpse at what is to come for Disney parks.

The partnership between Disney and Lucasfilm dates back to 1987, when the successful Star Tours attraction, inspired by George Lucas’s legendary Star Wars film series, opened at Disneyland.  The attraction was then redesigned, emerging as “Star Tours – The Adventures Continue” in 2011 and featuring more than 50 different story outcomes and the possibility to visit five different planets.

For 60 years, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts has been delighting millions of people with fantastic storytelling, exceptional entertainment and extraordinary experiences, creating places where guests can make life-long memories with their friends and families.  This announcement marks an unprecedented time of growth with exciting developments happening around the world – from Disneyland Resort’s Diamond Celebration to the anticipated opening of Shanghai Disney Resort in China.
