Celebrate 50 Years of Pirates of the Caribbean This Weekend at Disneyland Park #110

Yo ho, me hearties! This Saturday, March 18, marks 50 years of “rascals and scoundrels … villains and knaves” with the anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland park, and we’re planning to celebrate with scoundrels and scallywags alike!
Beginning Thursday, March 16, guests can feast upon special pirate-themed grub at French Market Restaurant, Mint Julep Bar, Harbour Galley, Royal Street Verandah, Cafe Orleans and the one-of-a-kind Blue Bayou Restaurant.
Then the party really sets sail Friday, March 17, and on the attraction’s official anniversary, March 18. Guests will find pirate-themed entertainment throughout New Orleans Square by the likes of Bootstrappers and Lucky the Pirate.

They can also plunder limited-edition anniversary merchandise, available in New Orleans Square while supplies last. And ye landlubbers who wish ter talk like a pirate – aye, ye’ll getcher chance … with pirate speak collectible cards. And stay sharp, because there will be even more to discover!
Since its March 18, 1967, debut, Pirates of the Caribbean has become a Disneyland park classic and fan favorite. This iconic attraction has gone on to pillage and plunder at Disney Parks around the world, with Pirates of the Caribbean attractions at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris and most recently, the award-winning Pirates of the Caribbean – Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disney Resort.

Pirates Of the Caribbean has always been my favorite ride.It is a Must Ride before we leave to go home. Pirates has been re-invented in the POTC movie franchise, Starring Johnny Depp, Jack the Monkey, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley and Geoffrey Rush. just to name a few of the actors. You will be able see them once again in the upcoming POTC Dead Men Tell No Tales movie this summer.
The Bootstrappers are a fun lively band that interact with guests, But watch out for Timekeeper and Sockhead Syd, Among other rum loving Pirates. You can Find Jack . Oops!! Captain Jack Sparrow, popping up everywhere. We ran into him at the 2015 D23 Expo. As I am sure we will run into him again at this July's D23 Expo.
Here are some more classic photos of the attraction.

I am a Fan of this ride, One of the last rides that Walt Disney created before he passed away.
I have been making a painting of Captain Barbossa.

Come celebrate Pirates of the Caribbean with us at Disneyland park!
I have been getting questions, will the ride be open? I called Disneyland, and talked to a Castmember, they said it will reopen this Thursday, (*tentatively)
I want to Thank Erin Glover for sharing her part of this blog.

Five Reasons to Celebrate Return of Main Street Electrical Parade During After-Hours Premiere Event at Disneyland Park on Jan. 19.2017 #91

The Main Street Electrical Parade returns to the place it began for a limited engagement beginning Jan. 20, and you can be among the very first in decades to see this iconic parade light up in the Disneyland park during a special after-hours premiere event on Jan. 19! There are many reasons to attend this exciting event – and here just five of them!
  1. Exclusive access to Disneyland park – Tickets for this event are extremely limited, so you will be among an exclusive group of guests to enjoy most Disneyland park attractions and select restaurants. See the parade and then spend the rest of the night riding some of your favorites over and over!

  2. Take photos with the floats – Ever wished you could walk right up and take your photo next to one of the parade floats? At this premiere event, you can!

  3. Dance the night away – Party like it’s 1972 during a special 70s dance party at Tomorrowland Terrace!

  4. Complimentary parking – Premiere event ticket holders will enjoy complimentary parking at Mickey & Friends parking structure after 6 p.m.

  5. First! – Did I mention you will be among the first guests to see the Main Street Electrical Parade return home to Disneyland park? Well, you will.

This sounds great to me.

DISNEY PARKS BLOG SHARED THIS TODAY: Main Street Electrical Parade Coming to Disneyland Park for a Limited Time; Last Chance to ‘Paint the Night’ #81

As we just announced, night time at Disneyland park will get even brighter with the return of Main Street Electrical Parade early next year! Twenty years since it last glowed down Main Street, U.S.A., at Disneyland park, this “spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination” will return for a limited-time encore engagement.

The quintessential Disney Parks nighttime parade, the Main Street Electrical Parade began at Disneyland park in 1972, shining brightly in the memories of thousands of Disneyland park guests until the end of its initial run in 1996. It returned to the Disneyland Resort as Disney’s Electrical Parade, bringing magical Disney stories to Disney California Adventure park from 2001 until 2010, when it crossed the country to begin its most recent run at Walt Disney World Resort.
Before its half-million tiny lights return to illuminate the imaginations of a whole new generation of Disneyland park guests, there is still time enjoy the experience this beloved favorite inspired – “Paint the Night” parade.

“Paint the Night” parade will continue nightly performances, just before “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, through September 5 as part of the Disneyland Resort Diamond Celebration. And I’m excited to share today that this popular parade will return on select nights during the holiday season later this year. Be sure to keep an eye on the entertainment calendar at Disneyland.com for performance dates and times.
Stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for more details — including dates — for this special engagement of Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland park next year!
I want to thank Erin Glover for sharing this news.

I am glad that the MSEP is returning to the Disneyland Resort. Just a note to the people on Facebook who thought the Paint the Night parade was heading to Walt Disney World, Not at this moment. It will still be at Disneyland for Special events and Holidays.

Disneyland Park Guests Get a Peek at New Star Wars-Themed Land. #63

In April, we celebrated the official groundbreaking of Star Wars-themed lands coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, and beginning today, Disneyland park guests can get a glimpse of this exciting and immersive experience. A new image has been unveiled on the fence along Big Thunder Trail in Frontierland – one of the entry points to this never-before-seen planet in the Star Wars galaxy – revealing more about what guests will find in this all-new land.

Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings. Click here for a larger version of the image above. Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.
The 14-acre land will be the largest-ever single-themed land expansion at Disneyland Resort. Keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog – we’ll continue to bring you updates as we learn more about this planet, as well as the citizens, aliens and droids who populate it.

This was originally posted by Erin Glover ,on Disney Parks Blog.
By clicking on the picture it will become bigger.
( Just a note from me) I am glad to see that the Disneyland Railroad still exists, if you take a closer look at the sketch, you will see a wooden trestle running over the Rivers of America.

Discover Shanghai Disneyland: Adventure Isle, Written by Erin Glover of the Disney Parks Blog #60

Our tour of Shanghai Disneyland continues today as we brave the wild jungles of Adventure Isle! Excitement awaits guests in this new land, exclusive to Shanghai Disneyland. At its center is Roaring Mountain, which legends says echoes with the roars of a mysterious reptilian creature just waiting to be discovered.
At the base of Roaring Mountain, guests are invited to prove themselves as true adventurers and blaze their own trails at Camp Discovery. They may choose to travel across time and space in Soaring Over the Horizon, or embark on the thrilling rafting adventure Roaring Rapids, straight through the heart of Adventure Isle.

Also found in Adventure Isle, “Tarzan: Call of the Jungle” is an original production performed in Mandarin. It’s a high-energy, musical retelling of the classic story and features the iconic score from the animated Disney feature film, “Tarzan,” with a fusion of theatrics and Chinese acrobatics.
Ready for more adventure? Check back soon as we continue our Shanghai Disneyland tour with Treasure Cove!

Ten Amazing Innovations at Shanghai Disney Resort Posted by Erin Glover from the Disney Parks Blog #59

Shanghai Disney Resort is our most technologically advanced resort to date. While guests may not see the technology – such as complex programming or advanced projection systems – in action, its innovative application takes them into exciting worlds where they become part of the action like never before. Let’s take a look at some of the amazing innovations guests will find at Shanghai Disney Resort.
1. TRON Lightcycle Power Run has a sleek, innovative vehicle design that combines onboard audio and lighting to give guests the feeling of speeding through the Grid on two-wheeled Lightcycle.

2. Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure is the most advanced version of this classic Disney attraction to date. It employs a new ride system where the boats are controlled magnetically and can spin or turn and even go backward. The integration of the visual media, with show lighting, sets and audio, make it one of the most complex attractions ever designed by Walt Disney Imagineering, and the latest advances in Disney’s Audio-Animatronics technology brings lifelike realism to the Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones figures featured on the attraction.
3. Peter Pan’s Flight utilizes a new suspended ride system in addition to special effects and digital media which allow families to experience the thrill of soaring over Never Land in a pirate ship like never before.

4. Soaring Over the Horizon utilizes high-definition, laser-projected footage shot by a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind camera system that captured the large-format images from vistas around the globe. The system broadcasts the highest resolution imagery currently in use in the world.
5. Buzz Lightyear Planet Rescue features newly designed Space Cruiser vehicles and a newly enhanced interactive targeting system which is more reactive and allows guests to better understand when their blaster has come into contact with its intended target.
6. Stitch Encounter showcases Disney’s latest advances in real-time animation. Through digital projection and sophisticated, voice-activated animation, guests have a new way to talk with Stitch, the lovable alien from Disney’s animated film, “Lilo & Stitch.”
7. Voyage to the Crystal Grotto is the only attraction in any Disney park on which guests ride through the park’s castle. In the attraction’s climactic scene, state-of-the-art projection mapping and scenic illusions bring the magic of the crystal to life before guests’ eyes.
8. “Once Upon A Time” Adventure inside Enchanted Storybook Castle brings the story of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” to life through a first-of-its-kind, interactive walkthrough experience, combining computer generated imagery, digital media, special effects, projections, scenic illusions and motion-tracking technology which allow the guests to become active participants in the story alongside Snow White.
9. “Eye of the Storm – Captain Jack’s Stunt Spectacular at El Teatro Fandango features an exciting climactic moment never before achieved in any indoor theatrical performance. For the first time anywhere, stunt performers battle each other in mid-air, held up only by the swirling force of a wind tunnel.

10. “Ignite the Dream: A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light uses the latest advancements in projection mapping on Disney’s largest castle in the world.

Just a reminder, you can make the pictures larger by clicking on them.

TWO DAYS UNTIL DISNEY`S NEWEST THEMEPARK OPENS : SHANGHAI DISNEYLAND : Discover Shanghai Disneyland: Mickey Avenue. #57

As we prepare for the Grand Opening of Shanghai Disney Resort on June 16, we’d like to take you on a tour of the spectacular Shanghai Disneyland park. Over the coming days, we will take you land-by-land through the six themed lands that will immerse our guests in classic Disney stories.
The first steps into Shanghai Disneyland lead to the whimsical and lively neighborhood of Mickey Avenue. For the first time in a Disney park, the main entry will be the hometown of Mickey Mouse and his pals. Stepping into this cheerful land sets the tone for a visit to Shanghai Disneyland, where guests will leave their worlds behind and enter lands of adventure, fantasy and the future. The first entrance of its kind in a Disney park, Mickey Avenue is filled with charming shops and storefronts that help introduce Mickey Mouse and his friends to our guests visiting from across China and around the world.
Four neighborhoods make up this colorful avenue, and each neighborhood engages visitors with the optimism of Disney. Celebration Square is the friendly heart of the community. Park Place lies just beyond the square, near the Gardens of Imagination.

The Market District is on the outskirts of the avenue, and this is where you will find Mickey & Pals Market Café, a counter-service restaurant offering localized Chinese and international menus plus views of the nearby gardens, Fantasia Carousel and Enchanted Storybook Castle. Guests can choose a table in one of five themed dining rooms: Mickey’s Galley, Tony’s (inspired by Disney’s classic “Lady and the Tramp”), Daisy’s Café, the Three Caballeros or the Covered Alleyway.
The Theater District, an artsy neighborhood, is on the outskirts in the other direction toward Tomorrowland. Here guests will find the Italian family tree of Donald Duck, displayed on a mural at Il Paperino – a soft-serve ice cream shop on Mickey Avenue where Donald is the host.
Check back soon for more of our tour of Shanghai Disneyland – up next … Gardens of Imagination!
