DISNEYLAND ANNOUNCES SOCAL DISCOUNTED TICKETS. #53
The beginning of the year marks another round of specially discounted Disneyland tickets for Southern California residents, the resort announced on Wednesday.
The cheaper rates for local residents would be available for several multi-day ticket options to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks, including two that provide park hopper access.
Starting Wednesday, Southern Californians will have the option to buy a two-day ticket for $149, according to a Disneyland Resort news release. The ticket is limited to one park per day.
A two-day pass with park hopper option can be purchased for $189.
For non-residents, the prices are $185 and $215 respectively, according to the resort’s website.
Three-day tickets good for one park per day would cost Southern California guests $179, and $219 with the ability to go between the theme parks each day.
Normally, those tickets go for $235 and $275.
Single-day admission currently costs $99 for guests above 10 years old, and $93 for children between the ages of 3 and 9. A park hopper pass can be added for an additional $56 on a single-day ticket, or $40 for multi-day tickets.
According to the release, the specially discounted tickets to the Anaheim parks were only available on the four purchase options between Jan. 6 and May 19 of this year. They expire on May 26, 2016, and cannot be used between March 20 and April 2.
In order to be eligible for the lower price, residents must show proof that they live between zip codes 90000 and 93599; Northern Baja California residents with zip codes between 21000 through 22999 can also purchase the discounted passes.
A similar offer has been in place at the beginning of almost each year since 2003, according to the Orange County Register.
The announcement comes just days before Disneyland will shutter several attractions — some permanently — as it prepares to begin construction on a new “Star Wars”-themed land.
Big Thunder Ranch — including Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, Big Thunder Ranch Petting Zoo and Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree — will be open through Jan. 10 before permanently closing.
Several attractions along the Rivers of America will temporarily shut down after this weekend due to the ongoing construction. They are: the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia; Pirate’s Lair on Tom Sawyer Island; Davy Crocket Explorer Canoes; and the “Fantasmic!” show

SAD NEWS!! DISNEY ARTIST LEGEND PASSES TODAY " CARSON VAN OSTEN" #51
Carson Van Osten (born September 24, 1946) is an American comics creator and musician passed away today at age 69.
Van Osten studied at the Philadelphia College of Art. In 1966, he played in the band Woody's Truck Stop, before forming the rock group Nazz with Todd Rundgren in 1967. Van Osten was the band's bass guitarist. He quit The Nazz in 1969.
Later, Van Osten became a writer and artist of Disney comics. From 1969 to 1976, he created Mickey Mouse and Goofy comics for the publisher Disney Studio, which produced comics for the European market. Starting in 1976, he was art director for Disney's comic strips department in the 1980s. After that, it seems that he has sporadically worked on new Disney comics, including some covers and the adaptation of the Atlantis: The Lost Empire film.
Van Osten created an N scale model railroad, the Rio Poco, that was featured in the June 1991 issue of Model Railroader magazine. The layout was influenced by fellow Disney employee John Olson.
Carson was just inducted into the Disney Legends this past August at the D23 Expo in Anaheim , Ca.
He was only 69 years old. Rest in Peace.

COLORS COME TO LIFE AT NIGHT DURING HOLIDAYS AT THE DISNEYLAND RESORT! #50
Holiday nights at Disneyland park come alive with vivid colors from “Paint the Night” parade, “Disneyland Forever” fireworks, the attractions and the holiday décor. I would like to share these six images that I think represent a small portion of what you can see after the sun sets during the holidays at Disneyland park.
I decided to do something a little different with the Main Street Christmas tree. Instead of photographing the entire tree at a distance, I decided to take a close-up image of the ornaments. For this image, I set the camera with a zoom lens on a tripod and used a long exposure. I zoomed very slowly in the middle of the long exposure to get this effect.
The Astro Orbitor is difficult to pass by after dark without taking an image or two.
I usually photograph the “Partners” statue with Sleeping Beauty Castle or Main Street, U.S.A., in the background. I chose this image because I like how the lights surround Walt Disney.
Since there weren’t any boats blocking the view, you can see the vibrant colors of “it’s a small world” Holiday reflected in the water.
I enjoy photographing the “Paint the Night” parade. Although it is wonderful to watch, it can be a little difficult to photograph, but as you can see, it is well worth the effort.
I like this long exposure taken during “Disneyland Forever” fireworks because it looks like Tinker Bell left a trail of Pixie Dust in the sky.
I would like to thank Paul Hiffmeyer, Chief Photographer for Public Relations, Disneyland Resort for sharing from the Disney Parks Blog.

E Ticket Does a Interview with Dazzling Dan! #47
First of all, I want to thank you for taking time to do this interview with "E" Ticket to Tomorrowland. We have 12 Questions.
#1 ETTT: At what age did you realized you loved the theme-parks?
DD: The moment I entered Main Gate in 1989. I was a anxious 8 year old waiting to turn the turnstiles. The main gate man looks at me , gives me a Mickey Mouse Button in secret and whispered in my ear "Only really special people get one of these buttons". Then he winked. My jaw dropped cause I was in Aww. This guy made me feel like the coolest kid in the world. Immediately I was in LOVE with DISNEYLAND Park.
#2 ETTT: Have you always worked for the Disneyland Resort? when did you start?
DD: On my 18th birthday I applied to work at the Disneyland Resort. My Cast member journey began in Main Street store operations.
#3 ETTT: What was your first job?
DD: My first job was to put on some Mickey Mouse gloves and start waving at guests.
"As soon as the guests approach you, you give them a "High Four" - My Disney trainer.
#4 ETTT: Would you recommend anyone to work at the parks?
DD: I recommend the entire world to come to work at the Disneyland Resort. The Company pays you to be happy? Come on , what else do you need? I loved every minute of my time as a Cast Member.
#5 ETTT: What is your favorite ride at Disneyland?
DD: My favorite Disneyland ride I called " The cast member journey" Holy Cow. Being a Disneyland Cast member is the most fun you will ever have. My ride lasted 15 years. Wooooooooo!!! :)
#6 ETTT: What will you miss most , now that you have a new goal?
DD: I am going to miss all the education that Disney provides to all the Cast members. They allow you to meet new people from all over the world. This place is all about safety and a healthy lifestyle. I lost 32 pounds just cause I was getting taught how to make good food choices at Disney. Schools should be designed like Disneyland.
Daniel Nava a.k.a. Dazzling Dan:
We did not finish this interview as I know how emotional these can be. We wish you luck on your new adventure Dazzling Dan.
Thank you for the small interview. :) Good Bless
When guests would visit the parks, They wanted their pictures taken with two Icons, Mickey Mouse and Daniel Nava!!
I remember I was at the Press pass event , Red Carpet Lone Ranger event and There he was on the Red Carpet with his tiny Hat. He worked as a lead with my wife at WOD. and she said he was a Great guy.
DCA will miss him, as I am sure his friends do too.
